About SDIRA Handbook
The SIDRA handbook has become the bible of the self-directed IRA market – whether for a keen DIY retirement planner or so clients can have a better understanding of what their IRA advisor is doing and how to best take advantage of their services.
Written by retirement planning expert, and attorney Mat Sorensen the book covers everything you need to know about opening and running a SDIRA and so much you didn’t even know you needed to know! There’s a reason it’s a 5-star Amazon best seller and at less than $20 or $10 on a Kindle, there’s no reason anybody considering the self-directed IRA route shouldn’t buy it.
From the SDIRA Handbook website:

An IRA/LLC is used by many self-directed IRA and 401(k) investors (e.g., real estate, cryptocurrency) to have greater control and protection with their self-directed investments. We establish self-directed solo 401(k)s for self-employed clients and advise them on how they can build and grow their 401(k) with non-publicly traded investments.
Martin Roberts –
excellent book would recommend reading it before speaking to IRA “advisors” aka sales reps, you’ll surprise them when you say “well actually…”
BILLY DAWES –
I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK ENOUGH IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO GO SELF DIRECTED
Doc –
I bought the 2nd edition on Kindle and the book is so good it should be required reading for anybody who’s going to retire at some point. ie everyone.
I found the sections on self-dealing and prohibited transactions especially useful and I believe the book stopped me making a very expensive mistake with a company trying to sell me a “checkbook IRA”.
Seven bucks well spent
